Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Seven

Hello everyone!

Here is my version of the Funkie Junkie Christmas tag number 7! I had been hoping some Iced Spruce would be appearing (in fact I had mentioned that in the previous tag post - but of course tag number 7 was posted without Linda ever seeing my question!)

So I was thrilled that Linda used Vintage Photo and Iced Spruce - both are gorgeous colours. There are a few items Linda used that I didn't have, but I certainly had enough to be able to put together a tag to show what I was inspired by!

I was inspired by the embossed background - though I don't have the one that Linda used, I found one that I quite liked...I covered it in Vintage Photo DI and spritzed it with Biscotti pearl mist.

I added a strip of die cut lace that had been inked with Iced Spruce DI and dabbed with Vintage Photo DI.

I loved the mini tags but I didn't have any - so I drew and cut my own one out. I decided to have just one because the tag size I am working on is quite small. I then blended Iced Spruce DI over the tag......

........and stamped it with the mini apothercary script stamp with Potting Soil Archival ink. I sprayed the tag with Biscotti pearl mist.

I wanted to keep the same word and I used Grungeboard letters. I painted the letters with Snowflake Fresco paint. I did consider adding my favourite Rock Candy Distress glitter to the letters to give a 'snow' effect, but I realised that I had enough glitter planned for this tag as it is....we don't want to overdo things!!!

I didn't have the Poinsettia die cuts - but I really wanted to keep a floral element here....so I used some Tattered Florals die cuts and inked them with Iced Spruce DI and edged them with Frayed Burlap DI. I then stamped the smaller flowers with the script stamp. They were attached with silver brads that I had covered in Ginger Alcohol ink.

Sadly I don't have Vintage Photo Distress Glitter so instead I inked some fern die cut shapes with Vintage Photo and then covered them with Rock Candy Distress glitter, giving them another layer of ink after the glitter has dried. I did the same for some holly leaves too - inking them with Frayed Burlap DI and then covering them with Frayed Burlap Distress Glitter (Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen Distress glitters have become my Silver and Gold glitter now! - I love that they are a dull metallic rather than the too shiny glitter)

I also left some Holly leaves just with Frayed Burlap DI as a contrast

I covered some leaves with Iced Spruce DI and edged them with Vintage Photo DI and then covered them with Rock candy glitter. Then I covered some flourishes with just Vintage Photo and left them glitter-less

I arranged the flowers and leaves in a crescent shape down the side of the tag.

The small tag was placed onto the tag and I added a bow of ivory hemp string

The tag was finished with a bow of ivory crochet lace...........

And here is Tag Number 7! Hope you liked it!

Why not come along and share in the fun of this challenge too?...all you have to do is make something inspired by each of the 12 tags and you could be in with a chance to win $50 to spend at the Funkie Junkie Boutique
