Forgotten Things

Welcome back to another Our Creative Corner challenge. This month Anne is hosting the challenge - please pop over there and say hello to her!

Anne's challenge this month is -

                                                'Forgotten things'

"As crafters we tend to have so much in our stash that some things inevitably get forgotten.  You know how it is, you buy that 'must have' item and then you put it away in a safe place...... and it gets forgotten.  Or there might be a technique that you used to love, but have not used or even thought about for ages. So, whether you are re-discovering a forgotten item, or technique, we would love to see your creation. Please remember to make it very clear in your entry what the 'forgotten' element is".

I started by locating a forgotten item...years ago I went through a stage of making things with Fimo, usually Christmas decorations to sell at Craft Fairs....I had quite a collection of Fimo at one point! I hadn't used Fimo for years and amazingly I found an unopened block of it at the bottom of a drawer that I bought way back in 2003....well that certainly is a VERY forgotten thing. I rolled some out, cut some heart shapes and stamped them with a scroll stamp...now I had the 'Forgotten' element for my creation....

I cut a tag from corrugated card and began to rip sections of it to see the corrugated section underneath. When I had some raggedy parts revealed and I liked the effect, I stuck some torn embossed card onto the other parts. I then painted it all over with Snowflake Fresco paint.

I then selected three colours...Honey Dew, Guacamole, and Hey Pesto Fresco paints. I dabbed the Honey Dew and Guacamole paint around the card and then dry brushed the Hey Pesto paint around the edges.

I stamped a Gibson Girl stamp onto tissue paper and painted the underneath with Vintage Lace and Mocha Mousse Fresco paint. I then stuck the image onto the card and dry brushed Chocolate Pudding Fresco paint around the image. I then decided to have script stamp around the card so I masked the face stamp and then stamped the script stamp in Coffee archival ink around the face.

I shaded around the edge with Vintage photo DI but it wasn't giving the effect I wanted so I dry brushed with Chocolate Pudding Fresco paint and then used this paint to stamp a dot stamp in some places.

I sprayed the cream roses with Biscotti Glimmer spray and stuck them to the card when the were dry, curling the green wire that was attached to them.

I brushed the Fimo hearts with Mocha Mousse paint to give them a bit of a shabby effect and chose some buttons to add to the arrangements.

Some tiny pearl beads were stuck around the hearts.

Lace was stuck to the edge of the base of the tag and some more pieces were added to the roses

A thin strand of twine was used to make the hanger part of the tag and I chose a pale green sparkle bead to add a tiny bit of delicate Vintage bling to the tag.

I can't wait to see all the 'Forgotten Things' creations! Please come on over to Our Creative Corner and see what other creations have been made to inspire you. Join in this month and you could be our Top Talent sitting in the spotlight!

          See you soon!
