The challenge over at Try it on Tuesday this time is Handmade Flowers.....a subject I adore....
This tag was so much fun to make -
I cut some balsa wood and painted it with Gesso - the first time using my new pot of Claudine Hellmuth Gesso - Amazing stuff! I then stamped the quote with a new ink pad I bought. I decided to treat myself to the new Wendi Vecchi Ranger Archival ink Designer Series in Cornflower Blue, Potting Soil and Fern Green -Gorgeous colours - and I needed some variety from usual Black, Coffee and Sepia.....Here I used the Cornflower Blue
The quote is about dancing in the rain...so after dry brushing around the edges of the wood with Mocha Mousse Fresco Paint, I decided to form some raindrops falling down the sign by pouring Glossy Accents down in blobs and then standing the sign up so they rolled down.
I used some screw style brads to attach the sign to the tag.
The tag had been painted in Mocha Mousse Fresco Paint and covered in crackle glaze and then covered in Nougat paint. After it was dry I stamped some of my favourite script stamp using Potting soil Archival ink...This is definitely my favourite Archival ink now - it's darker than the Coffee ink, but softer than the Black...it is a brilliant colour....
The flowers were cut from pages from a book and half were painted with Bora Bora Fresco Paint and half were left plain. All were dry brushed with a bit of Mocha Mousse Fresco Paint and then joined together with copper brads.
I attached some braided cord style ribbon to the top and bottom of the tag and attached twine to the top. I found a bead that matched perfectly and attached that the top of the tag to finish it off....
And there is my 'Rainy days and Mondays' Tag - Thanks so much for being here - Hope you will come over to Try it on Tuesday and show us some handmade flowers! You could be in the Top 5 and be entered in the prize draw at the end of the month.....see you there!
