Hi everyone!
Welcome back to the 12 Tags of Christmas inspired by the Funkie Junkie. Here is my version of Christmas tag number three...You can see Linda's original by clicking here.
I was inspired by the stars and music. I wanted to make a tag that looked like vintage music paper with some Christmas details.
First I cut the tag to size (of the MDF tag that I plan to attach it to). I swiped some Frayed Burlap and Gathered Twigs DS on the mat and swirled the tag in the stains. After drying, I dabbed the tag to give the wrinkle free distress look - a slightly muted one because the colours were just brown but it gives a lovely aged paper look which was just what I wanted.
I got out my music sheet stamp and using Coffee Archival ink I stamped the music across the tag. I then chose a flourish stamp and a 'Christmas Carols' stamp and using the Potting Soil Archival ink I stamped the images on the tag.
I loved the stars on Linda's tag but I don't own those ones...suddenly I remembered that years and years ago I bought some very similar plastic stars and after a very manic hunt I finally found them. I got the Tarnished Brass DS and dabbed the stain over them.
I added some little UTEE drops I had saved from when emptying the melt pot. These seemed perfect to place around the stars.
A bit of ribbon dyed with Frayed Burlap and Gathered Twigs DS finished off the tag
And there is my finished tag number 3!....I really loved making this one!

This is absolutely gogeous, Laura. Such a wonderful vintage background and it looks wonderful with the music stamp and the flourishes. Now you have inspired me to get my Fabulous Flourishes stamp out. I was thinking about it the other day and now I'm itching to use it :) Great work with the stars and the drops. Love your take on tag #3!

Linda
