Hi everyone - Hope you are having a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend!
This is very similar to my William Morris hanging that I made for the Frilly and Funkie challenge in March. I enjoyed making that so much, that I couldn't resist having another go...
I got some gorgeous autumn style papers from the Range and wanted to use them - I know we are barely into spring, but I am impatient person and couldn't wait for the appropriate seasonal moment! So here is my wooden autumn hanging.....
With this hanging I decided to use a die cut card frame, blended with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain DI's and stamped with a wood grain stamp with the Walnut Stain DI.
This was then stuck onto a piece of balsa wood that had been cut to the same size and shape as the frame.
I blended several 'wood' coloured inks onto die cut flowers - I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Frayed Burlap...I stamped the woodgrain onto each flower and then layered them attaching a copper brad in the centre of each flower
The background leaves and flowers were die cuts that again were covered with 'wood' coloured inks and the leaves were blended with Vintage Photo before being dabbed with Crackle glaze. I inserted some rusty wire into the top of the hanging and there we go! - One Autumn Scene!
Very un-seasonal!! But I hope you like it!
I would like to enter this in the following challenges -
Unruly PaperArts - Paper Flowers
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything Goes
Fashionable Stamping Challenges - Anything Goes
Delicious! Love the autumn crafting colours - can hardly wait for them to come round again - but perhaps there's no need to wait! The flowers are lovely, and the crackle on the leaves is fab!
