Sageranium

Another tag!

Sage green was the choice this time and when I started this tag the only idea in my head was 'Elegant vintage grunge' - If there is such a term! I am loving playing with all my craft stuff!

I started with Antique Linen and Bundled Sage and blended patches over cream coloured card so I had a marbled effect. Then I did some spritz and flick with water.

I used a script stamp and began to stamp the script in Antique linen over the card. The effect at this point was very subtle so I began to add script in Gathered Twigs and Forest Moss.

The post mark stamp was added at this point and I chose Walnut Stain and Forest Moss for these.

I stamped some flourishes in clear ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I focused mainly on the areas that had the Antique Linen ink on them. Then when the embossing powder had melted I applied Bundled Sage with the blending tool - applied darker than I had done before and wiped the ink away from the embossing. The Antique Linen showed through. I love the areas where you can just catch a glimpse of the Antique Linen script peeking through the flourishes

Then I stamped more flourishes with clear ink and again I applied the embossing powder - this time I was focusing mainly on the Bundled Sage areas. After the powder was melted, I went over these areas with the blending tool applying Forest Moss and this time the Bundled Sage showed through.

I added some more patches of text in Forest Moss and Walnut Stain...just dabbing the pad on the stamp and pressing the stamp down with my hand rather than the acrylic block to get a more random grunge effect.

I did some more spritz and flick.....then distressed the edges of the tag and applied some Walnut stain to the edges.

I wanted to remove the embossed texture from the card leaving just the pattern. So I covered the tag with paper and ironed it so the paper absorbed the melted embossing leaving just the patterned tag.

A fabric flower was added with a patterned brad at the centre.

A few bits of paper covered wire were added after they had been stained with Forest moss ink and then curled.

I added some twine for hanging the tag and some sage ribbon (leftover from my wedding last year) for a finishing touch.....

And there it is - the completed tag made in one of my favourite colours. Hope you like it. Please leave a comment for me if you do! Thanks for visiting me! xxx
