Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Eleven

Welcome back to the 11th Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas....

I had another colour shock when I saw this tag....Broken China and Shabby Shutters - again not my favourite colours - but Linda always has this amazing ability to make you feel confident about tackling things out of your comfort zone. Also her work often leads you to discovering that the things you thought you couldn't use or disliked using are actually really lovely!

I don't have the dies that Linda used on her tag. Although I had done copies on a couple of the previous tags, I wanted to go in a new direction here. So I finally used my reindeer stamp and a new tree stamp! I really was inspired by the reindeer and tree and I couldn't leave them out of this tag! I decided not to go for any snowflakes as I seem to have used them on so many of the tags!

First I stamped the reindeer and tree with embossing ink and covered with white embossing powder.

After the embossing powder had been melted I applied Broken China DI to the top half of the tag and Shabby Shutters DI to the bottom....yes, that is Shabby Shutters - even though it looks brown. Sadly the camera just couldn't capture the colours very well.

I stamped a music and script stamp in Potting Soil Archival ink.

I also added some fern stamps.

I used the 'Believe' stamp from the Christmas Minis and stamped that in Potting Soil Archival ink.

I don't have the Broken China Distress Glitter, so instead I covered the die cut flowers with Broken China DI and then covered them with Glossy Accents glue, sprinkled with Rock Candy Distress Glitter and when dry I dabbed some more ink to intensify the colour. The same was done with the leaves using Shabby Shutters DI . I added some die cut twigs covered in Walnut Stain DI.

I added a die cut lace strip at the bottom that was inked with Walnut Stain DI and covered in Rock candy glitter before being inked again.

The top of the tag was decorated with an ornate metal corner that had been rusted.

And there is my 11th tag....I love this one. Hope you enjoyed being here to see it!

Why not come along and share in the fun of this challenge too?...all you have to do is make something inspired by each of the 12 tags and you could be in with a chance to win $50 to spend at the Funkie Junkie Boutique

  2. This is so gorgeous. I love the rusted embellishment at the top and I am in love with the beautiful reindeer stamp. The whole tag is wonderful - original in colours and images, such delicate and pretty foliage and the musical background works so well too. A lovely, lovely tag. Thank you for all the beautiful tags you have created so far: it's been such a treat dropping by and seeing your take on Linda's inspiration. Julie Ann xx
