A step back in time

Today I am bringing you a tag that I made ages ago!

I can't remember exactly when I made it, but at that time I didn't like it very much so I decided to leave it aside. Then I began to think that it was a shame to not feature it as part of my work...especially as my blog serves as a 'Craft Diary' for me....so here it is..

This really didn't start out as anything other than a playtime - just messing around with some stains and inks....trying a bit of wrinkle free distress and also adding some glimmer spray to the inks rather than directly to the tag....

I won't be writing what I did and how and what was used - because I really can't remember all the details! I know I used Potting Soil ink - which has become a total favourite of mine....I think I used Frayed Burlap DS....I covered some rose with Distress Stain...added some metal embellishments, stamped onto card and added to the tag to build up layers....ribbon and lace....buttons

I know I covered the roses with some glue and then sprinkled them with Rock Candy Distress Glitter....I was a little heavy handed, but I do really like the ice encrusted look this gives - It is such a gorgeous glitter.

This was the first time I used the dried grape hyacinth flowers - covered them in Snowflake Fresco paint and then sprinkled them with Rock candy Distress glitter.

So sorry to leave you without a more detailed description......but hope you like the pictures! ;o)

Thanks so much for being here! Hope to see you again soon!

  1. Hi Laura...I think this has such a timeless beauty to it! The colours are just right for that vintage feel and great layers! I can't decide whether I like the collage effect better, or those gorgeous flowers??? Both!
